Our Mission and Values
ACCM (UK) works to promote action to bring about positive social change to enhance the wellbeing and to protect the dignity of girls and women locally, nationally and internationally.
Our Vision
- There is zero tolerance of abuse and specifically cultural derived abuse including FGM, forced marriage and honour violence both within the cultures where these violations are prevalent and in society as a whole.
- A society where everyone is empowered to access health and other statutory services and that there are no health inequities based upon ethnicity, cultural or language difference.
Our Mission
- ACCM(UK) is committed to the improvement of the health and wellbeing of Black and Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME), other vulnerable and disadvantaged communities through education within the communities to improve health outcomes.
- ACCM(UK) is committed to the tackling and the elimination of all illegal harmful traditional practices, including female genital mutilation, child & forced arranged marriages and honour based violence and all forms of domestic violence against girls and women (and men) from all backgrounds, creed and race.
- ACCM(UK) is inclusive in its work and is committed to working with people from all backgrounds, including boys and men. In some communities men are the patriarch of the family and their support is important to tackling ill-health and abuse. The inclusion of men in our work supports our campaign towards eliminating all forms of abuse.
- ACCM(UK) uses community development approaches, consulting with and involving communities or users at all levels, to bring change through engagement, and building evidence to influence
